Some Photoshop fun! Happy Easter all...

The following example is a representation of a realistic IES (photometric) lighting effect. It was created using an IES lighting profile in Photoshop. The inspiration for the project came from a talented artist Keith Sereby.

Here is a Winter Card I created in Photoshop. It has a 3D look to it and was inspired by a project I found on the Internet. We had just had an 80 degree day followed by 5 inches of snow 2 days later...I was feeling a little bummed out at the weather.

Another photo manipulation combining a number of elements to create a final image. It was accomplished by the extensive use of "masks" to blend the elements. This image was inspired by another artist.
This was a Photoshop exercise inspired by abduzeedo. It was created using a custom brush in the shape of a HEXAGON, but can be modified for nearly any shape. More interesting to me isn't the shape of the brush, but rather the lighting effects used. Those were achieved using a number of layer styles and blending modes.

This is a composite photo made from 2 different photos. The important part of this project was blending the model with the background. To accomplish this, several adjustment layers and masks were used to effect lighting and color balance. The photos I used were provided by faestock of deviantART.

This photo served as the background of the final picture.
This is the photo used for the model in the final composite picture. The key was to get her extracted from her background cleanly and without the kind of edges that would make her look pasted in front the background.
Just a little Photoshop fun. As it turns out, this little guy was one of the most difficult Photoshop projects I have yet to complete. It has over 70 layers and required many different layer styles and blending modes.

The following piece of art was inspired by another artist. Since I hadn't been taking many photos lately, I was looking to do something that would allow me to "hone" my Photoshop skills as well as try a few new things.

While that might look like snow, it is NOT, that is 3 inches of sleet! I took that shot through my kitchen window at 9:00 PM. The "glistening" in the trees is from the freezing rain we had just before the sleet started to fall.

Below are some of the photos I took during the Christmas Holiday. There are photos from Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at my house, and some from the festivities at Diane and Greg's house Christmas Day. There are simply too many to post them all on this front page, so if you want to see all 40 or so, just ckick on the "slideshow" in the grey box to the right.

"Whoa...Who the hell put these in here?"
When reviewing these photos from the Decade Party, I kept picturing the people at the Petting Zoo feeding all the baby animals. I went ahead and had little fun with the photos. To read the Cartoon Bubbles easier, just click on the photo to see the full-size image.
I have neglected my Blog since working on the Katie and Jeremy Wedding Blog so I thought I would post a few photos from Thanksgiving at Diane's. I didn't take very many, but I will start posting over the next few days.

Here are some photos from the Twins 1st Birthday Party. As always, you can click on the small slideshow in the column on the right to view the complete album. I will continue to add additional photos as they are processed.

These photo's were taken in very dark conditions without a flash but fast enough to freeze some of the action. I didn't want to use flash and embarrass or blind EJ. Also, I had to shoot these through the fence so you will see some dark fringing even though I tried to obliterate much of it.
