In anticipation of the Tour of Missouri bike race in September, Sharon and I attended the Tour de WingHaven bike races in O'Fallon back in June to get some experience at shooting this kind of event. Just click on the slideshow on the right to view this album.

Austin Video

HDR Photography

I have been experimenting with HDR (High Dynamic Range) Photography of late. That's when you "merge" multiple exposures of the same image. The two images represent my early experiments with this technique. The photos were taken at Faust Park in the Historic Village.

Butterfly House

While not the Butterfly type so much, I thought it might be fun to expand my horizons and try a few shots of some Butterflies. Besides we have driven by the Butterfly House so many times over the years we thought it was time to go so see whats up. I shot these with my 24-105 lense but to do justice to these guys you really need to be using a good quality Macro lense (on my wish list). Just so you know, these little Buggers do not cooperate so you have to be quick sometimes and take what you can get. The Great River Road

In early Fall, we are planning to drive the Great River Road up to Quincy, Illinois and then cross over to Hannibal and drive back down the Missouri side of the river. We plan to do this in early Fall in hopes to stop along the way and get some great landscape photos. In the mean time we decided to take a trial run to scope out some possible sites and that's when I got this shot of the Piasa Bird.

Please be aware there was NO editing done and I had to reduce it in size significantly for the site I am temporarily testing with...I shot it in full 1080p HD and it is going to be a while until I can secure an online home for that kind of video.
